Do I need prior yoga experience to attend?
Prior yoga experience is not required. In fact, a majority of attendees have had none, or very little exposure to yoga practice.
Do I need prior clinical/mental health training to attend?
Prior knowledge and training in the area mental health is always a plus, but not required for this workshop. Day 1 will provide an in-depth overview of trauma, stress and how it affects both physical and mental health processes. This will provide attendees the foundation for understanding and using Trauma-Responsive Yoga with traumatized/maltreated populations/clients.
What if I have mobility issues that keep me from engaging in the activities?
Trauma-Responsive Yoga advocates that practitioners decide what forms/movements feels safe and comfortable to them, and to respect the decision to not go beyond that point. Participants are not required to perform all the forms/movements. If needed, you are welcome just to sit and observe if that feels comfortable.
Do I have to stay all three days?
For the fullest experience, we encourage participants to stay all three days. For those requesting CEUSs or hours from Yoga Alliance, it is required you attend all three days. We cannot provide credit for less than 17 CEUs/contact hours.
How soon can I start to use this content in my own practice?
This workshop is structured so that once completed, participants will have the necessary tools to immediately start incorporating this practice in their own yoga studios, starting their own Trauma-Responsive Yoga groups, and/or using the forms/movements in individual therapy sessions.
What is your refund policy?
Refunds can be given up to one week before the first day of the workshop (Sunday, September 3rd, 2023).
When will I receive my CUEs?
Those requesting CEUs and contact hours for Yoga Alliance will receive their respective certificates via the last day of the training.
What is the registration deadline?
You can register the day before the conference, however, we will only hold a spot for you once we receive both the registration and payment. We will also no longer accept registrations once we reach 25 participants.
